Tears for Fears

Tears for Fears the British new wave, pop rock, alternative band was created in 1981 by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal. Smith and Orzabal met when they were in England. Their musical took off with their first album “The Hurting.” It was released March.7 1983 and it peaked at number 1 on the UK charts. The album originally had 11 tracks but was reissued with 14. 2 years later Tears for Fears released their second album “Songs from the Big Chair.” This song had many award winning singles and reached Number 2 on the charts in the UK and stayed in the number 1 spot for 5 weeks in the US.
After their 3rd album “The Seeds of Love.” Curt and Roland had a falling out and they broke up. Curt continued to produce music on his own whilst Roland continued with Tears for Fears solo creating 2 albums “Elemental” and “Raoul and the Kings of Spain.” Both lacked a certain something and I think both Curt and Roland realized that and finally in 2000 they made up and began work on Tears for Fears comeback in 2004, “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending.”
Tears for Fears’ music is slow paced and chill but still has a very good sound. I definitely think their first 2 albums and their last album are the best. I do recommend the band to anyone who enjoys alternative music.
