Today I will be talking about a few different ways to stay healthy in the fall. We all know that we should eat healthy and drink tons of water, but what other things we can do to keep ourselves healthy? Why do we get sick more easily during the fall time?

Washing your hands is the number one way to stay healthy because it keeps germs from getting in eyes nose and mouth. We get germs by touching things other people have touched, animals shaking hands, and many more ways. There are 4 major types of germs: bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. Viruses are smaller than bacteria and aren’t even the size of a single cell that cause colds, smallpox, and HIV/AIDS. Influenza A and B are both forms of the flu that cause you to feel sick, cause fevers, and vomiting. Did you know that 10% of credit cards have fecal matter on them? That is one credit card out of ten that has poop on it! The elevator buttons are dirtier than your toilet seat! Just thinking about that should make you want to wash your hands.

In the fall you should get out and exercise instead of sitting around doing nothing. Getting exercise helps boost your immune system by flushing germs out of your body. It helps to lose weight and that can boost your confidence level as well. Staying on a diet can be hard for some people but in the long run it has its benefits and it keeps you fit! Dieting and drinking water have their benefits too. Consuming eight glasses of water a day helps with weight loss by making your stomach feel full and decreasing your appetite.

Adding extra vitamins such as C and D will help improve you stay healthy in the fall. Vitamin C is one of the most effective nutrients, experts say, but why? Vitamin c can help with many things like your immune system, cardiovascular system, reduce the risk of cancer and stroke, and improve eye health which is helpful in fall because you have a higher chance of getting sick. You get Vitamin D from sun light but in the fall it’s cold and clouding making most people want to stay inside. Vitamin D is critical in the fall and winter because it helps improve your mood. It also helps absorb calcium to keep your bones strong.

If you want to keep yourself healthy when the weather turns gray make sure you wash your hands, exercise, drink water, and take vitamins. these habits will help you stay happy and healthy and inspire for others do so as well.
