Benefits of Giving

Daizy Gehrke, Staff Writer

Giving is an amazing thing that brings joy, is easy, and you can do everyday. It brings joy to the giver and the given, both physically and mentally. If you do it right, it can be very fun as well. Today we are going to go over some of the benefits of giving.

There are many mental benefits, but I am going to only go over a few. First of all, giving gives you greater self-esteem and satisfaction with life. It is said that it gives you more of a purpose in life, and good always pays off, one way or another. Another benefit is that it is medically proven that it lowers risk of depression (“The Health Benefits of Giving”). Like I said earlier giving makes the giver and recipient happier.

Did you know that giving gives you a longer life span? Its true, researchers have proven that giving elongates your life span. That is one of many visceral benefits and another is smiling. You are said to smile more as you give. (“The Health Benefits of Giving”)

These are just a few of the reasons one should give to others.
