Is Alexa Listening to our Conversations?

Some people say that she listens to everything that you say, but others say that she starts listening in on your conversations when she hears the key word “Alexa”. But since Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana, Google’s Al, and Kenmore’s Alfie all work the same way wouldn’t they all be listening in our conversations too?

In order for Alexa to hear the key word she has to be listening  to you at all times. Even without you knowing. People say that once Alexa hears her name she sends everything that she hears to Amazon.

Isn’t it a little creepy for someone other than the people that live with you to be listening to you at all times?  Well I think that it is, I would not want someone listening to me at all times if I don’t know them, and I have Cortana, Siri,and Alexa.
