A Standing Ovation for “Sing”

Emily Willis, Staff Writer

The movie “Sing,” was released December 21st in theaters. It was produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy. The movie has an overall rating of 7.3/10. It sold 430.2 million dollars in the box office. The story follows numerous regular people, all from different backgrounds, with one common dream in mind: to become a singer.
The movie feels real, more real than most animated movies that have recently come out. Buster Moon, a determined koala, doing whatever it takes to get his theater up and running again, decides to hold a singing contest and the winner will win 5,000, but the contestants are led to believe that they’ll win 50,000 due to a mistake.
Overall, I thought it was a really good movie. It brought me to tears a couple times and I really recommend seeing it even though it’s out of theaters now. It also has some comedy thrown in too.
