Chen was born September 21st, 1992 as Kim Jong-Dae of Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He stands at a height of 173cm, or 5ft 8in, and he weighs approximately 64kg. He has a habit of sticking out his tongue when he laughs. His favorites color is pink, genre of music is R&B, possessions are mp3 and notebook (this is because of his forgetfulness), and his hobbies are singing and playing piano. He is even in a South Korean-Chinese group called EXO.
Chen became part of S.M Entertainment’s casting system in 2011 when he was 18yrs old. In December of 2011, Chen was introduced as the fourth member of EXO officially alongside his fellow members Kia, Luhan, and Tao. EXO officially debuted on April 8th 2012. Then in 2014, Chen joined SM’s Ballard group, SM the Ballard, in their 2nd album (Breath) Chen sang the Chinese version of the title track “Breath.” He then went on to sing a duet with F(x)’s Krystal it was titled “When I was… When U Were.” Chen is a great music artist, but he is also an actor.
He was in the web drama “EXO Next Door” playing as himself, and his other members were also featured in the show. The drama is recorded as one of the most viewed dramas with over 50 million views. He was also in variety shows one of which is called Travel without Manager; he was in the main cast and was in episodes 1-8. The other variety show was King of Mask Singer; he was featured as a contestant in episodes 21 and 22. He later was nominated for the 16th Annual International Youth Film Festival for his work in the music video “Best Luck.” He won the award for the Best OST by Male Artist.
Now Chen is a great artist, which is why he is one of my favorites. He was said to have the best voice in EXO and he can hit a high note with ease. His voice is quite soothing and I enjoy listening to him, I also enjoy watching him. If you’re into this kind of stuff you should look him and his group up.
