Swiss Army Man

Swiss Army Man is a comedy-drama movie made in 2016. It’s about a man named Hank, who was stranded on an island and had given up all hope. Just as he is about to commit suicide, he notices a body wash up on shore. When he goes to investigate, it seems like a normal dead body, until it farts.
Hank goes back to his noose but soon notices the corpse propelling itself into the ocean by its flatulence. Hank then has an idea, and rides the dead body like a jet ski. Hank and the dead body soon wash ashore on a mainland but far from civilization. Soon, the corpse somehow very slowly comes back to life. Hank finds out his name is Manny and he has special powers. Manny can use his body like a Swiss army knife, and Hank realizes that there is a good chance of him getting back home.
This movie was directed by Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, and Hank was played by Paul Dano, and Manny was played by Daniel Radcliffe. The film only took 22 days to film and was released on June 24th 2016. Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan decided to make this movie from the stuff they hated. Such as fart jokes and acapella music, which is almost entirely what the movie’s music is.
This movie makes no sense sometimes and ends on a very weird note. But with its adult humor and true meaning of the movie, it’s by far my favorite film. Daniel Radcliffe stated in an interview that it was his favorite too. To me, the real meaning of this film is to be yourself and not be so serious all the time. Which I think we’ve all had hard times doing. The movie sadly ends with Manny swimming out into the ocean, with Hank and Manny sharing one last smile.
