Oct.19, 2016 Portland Oregon had an explosion after crew workers hit a gas line.

Officials are saying eight were injured in a powerful gas explosion in a popular shopping area.Three firefighters, three civilians, and two police officers were hurt in the blast. Reporters are say that Fire Lt. Rich Chatman said none of the injuries are life-threatening. He said two firefighters suffered broken legs and one of them will require surgery.

An employee at a kitchen across the street says “he felt a blast and the saw some smoke. People were saying they felt the blast from across the street. As smoke rose in the air firefighters approached the scene. People in the building evacuated quickly as the windows started to burst into flames.
