Maleficent Review

Octavian Kress, Staff Writer

The movie Maleficent is about the Disney villain from Sleeping Beauty. If I were to give a rating for this movie, I would give it five stars because it’s funny and great. The movie was released on the 30th of May 2014.  The major actors, and the characters they play, are Angelina Jolie (Maleficent), Elle Fanning (Aurora), Sharlto Copley (Stefan), Lesley Manville (Fittle), Imelda Staunton (Knotgrass), Juno Temple (Thistletwit), Sam Riley (Diaval), Brenton Thwaites (Prince Phillip), and Kenneth Cranham (King Henry). The main characters are Maleficent and Aurora, but this movie isn’t all about Aurora. Rather it’s about both Maleficent and Aurora. I suggest that kids under the age 6 should not watch this movie because certain parts may be too violent for younger viewers. It is rated PG and is a sci-fi fantasy made by Disney.

This movie is about one of the evillest villains in the Disney studio. It’s about how Maleficent became a villain and how, if it’s even possible, she could redeem herself and go back to good. It’s somewhat about these two kingdoms, one ruled by a king and queen and the other the Moors who needed no king or queen to rule. The Moors was a magical place where a young girl named Maleficent protected the Moors from humans. In this movie, Maleficent has wings and not just horns. Her wings are so big that they drag behind her when she walks.

In conclusion, the movie Maleficent is great for the whole family, and you will enjoy it very much. I believe it did win a few Oscars.  Anyways, I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did.
