Conor McGregor is a professional Irish mixed martial artist and a boxer. His first professional boxing match was against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on August 26, 2017. Conor McGregor is a fighter in the UFC, he is the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion. He is also the former featherweight champion, he is 2nd on UFC’s pound for pound ranking.

On August 26, 2017 Conor McGregor boxed the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. At the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada. The match was the second-biggest-pay-per-view event of all time, with 4.3 million pay-per-view in the United States. It was way ahead the third-biggest-pay-per-view of all time. It was a success financially, it might not help with the bigger picture in boxing, but it made a lot of money. (Christ)

At the moment McGregor is the lightweight champion in the UFC, and former featherweight champion. The UFC held a press conference on January 19, in Boston for UFC 223. The fight between Ferguson and Nurmmagomedov, will be for the actual belt and McGregor will keep the title. Two weeks after being the first person to have two belts at once, he has vacated the title back to Jose Aldo, who was declared the undisputed champion. (Pugmire)
